As a child
I developed a tendency
to hold my breath when I needed something desperately
I was too fragile to speak my words out
when emotions ran wild and choked me
everyone tried to make sure
that I’m never in a situation like this
but every other day
for one reason or another
I was standing mute
Holding my breath
like I was always looking for an opportunity
as if I liked the taste of tears
running down from my eyes
and reaching my mouth from inside.
Though I kept growing over the course of time
but I always remained that child
who never grew.

Not any person or learning
could successfully become the counsellor
of this taboo of mine
she almost killed me.
