On and on and on

I’m tired when you come home
smacking walls,
take my hand, run my fingers
upon you everywhere,
and blossom layer by layer.

Take me with you
on a journey to the hidden world
inside your heart.
Let me feel the widening cracks
of your rigid interior,
and smilingly cry
at our helplessness.

I’m tired when you smash
the jars of our jaded reality
upon my face,
and admire me bleed and staple
our open wounds.

Help me understand you
a tad bit better,
and understand me
a little more than before.
Promise that you’ve changed,
that this time
you’re here to stay.

I’m tired
that first you do this with conviction,
but then disappear
without a hint.

Poetry is fine as long as it conveys the message.

  6. I love this poem! The violence is disturbing. The romance is compelling, and there is a hint of sexuality that tugs at the reader. Beautiful!

Thank you Priscilla. Everything written in this poem was intended to be just a metaphor except the last few lines.
