Love on sale

Wake up you sleepy-ass.
Turn on the geyser; take a steamy shower.
Dress-up nicely in linen pants.
Skim to the last page of newspaper
as morning-coffee-slurp pumps a little life in you.
There is an ad in a tiny space
which says “Love’s on Sale”.

Rub your eyes a little
for sure it’s hard to believe at first.
There is no price tag or terms & conditions.
Tame your heartbeat.
Grab your car-keys and some chips.
It’s gonna be quite a ride,
but it’ll be worth a trip.

Rev the engine.
Zip through the traffic.
Every light’s green, did you notice?
Sun’s shining bright,
wind’s warm and nice,
birds merrily chirp and glide,
keep going, love, you’ll be fine.

Take a left;
save your breath.
You gonna need it when lips are pressed.
Stop the car;
Come right in.
Close your eyes and glide on whim.
Love’s here, palpitating, waiting.

    The flow of this was beautiful. Each line fitted seamlessly with the one before and the one after to help the story of the words go. 😊
